Art class move on to bigger things!

Little dogs and deers finished, the art class have moved on to greater things and are making a paper harp! Yes, a harp.  It is very helpful to have someone on hand who knows how to make a real harp!

All the ......
 pieces you
need to make

a harp. Sinead was delighted with the extra help.
 Miles of tape in use.

THE FADA (Feeny and Dromboughil Active group) group is thriving with a number of new members coming along to join in.

A card making class for the ladies ..
 ....  and the finished results!
We have more men!  David now has company to have a game of dominoes with.

WALK NO 4         2013 SEASON.  The bluebells are doing well this year!

Heading off up the road, surprisingly steep actually.
We watched this sheep dog being put through its' paces.
An arty-farty, light through the trees picture.  Quite like it myself.

 Heading for the bridge.
Stopped for a look at the river

 I got into this one!!!

Always remember to check that pictures are the right shape before you post them.  Ooops!

DROMBOUGHIL WALK 3 2013

This bank of bluebells is just opposite the Community Centre.

This was a site my legs, already sore, did not much enjoy, especially as I had done this walk before and knew that there was a lot more after this.  About half way up the hill climb.
Stopping to enjoy the view.  Seven of us tonight again but different people come each week.
Isn't this a wonderful site.  Look at all that downhill!  Mind you the weather was still trying to thwart us by blowing strongly in our faces, but this was a welcome sight for me personally, the others are more seasoned walkers I should add.
Three buzzards and a forth one came along just after I took this shot.
Just for everyone's benefit, this is what blue sky looks like, we haven't seen a lot of it recently and this patch didn't even last long.

 DROMBOUGHIL WALK NO 2
16TH MAY 2013

This week eight people and a dog went for a walk in much nicer conditions, not too hot, not cold. We stopped to admire the peacocks, but alas, there was only one little brown hen wandering about so it wasn't quite so entertaining!
Down past Cecil's and across the bridge over the river ...

 .... and into the 'Hollow'.
Up the surprisingly evil set of steps to the Priory.  (By the time you get up these steps your legs are positively screaming at you!)
A couple of pictures to prove that I made it.

Across the Main Street, and up the Curragh Road

At this point I was hoping that the plan was to stop before we reached the top of Benbradagh!  We did, we turned down the Naas Road.
Route conference - right or left.  We went right, down to the Dry Arch, back through the town and ...
.... back down Magheramore Road.  At least the end was just a mile away now.

 Posh gates.
A rough guestimate of the distance walked was 6-7 miles.  These are all warm-ups for the longer sponsored walk in June - what length will that be???????

 DROMBOUGHIL WALKING SEASON 2013
On Thursday 9th May 2013 six people and a dog went out walking.  This was despite the fact that it was raining and continued to rain until we got back to the Centre.  The chat was good and distracted from the complaints our legs were making, good exercise.
The river was in flood in the glen
Some of the beautiful local scenery.  A big bank of bluebells down the path.
We are looking for more walkers to come along and join us and enjoy the beauty of the local area.  We leave the Centre at 7.00pm on Thursday evenings and walks continue until 13th June 2013, the last one being a sponsored walk to raise money for the work in the Community Resource Centre.
