Friday 26th February 2010 - What a morning!

Friday 26th February 2010 was a busy morning.
Firstly it was our monthly Coffee Morning, secondly it was the launch of our Community Survey and thirdly it was an exhibition of the art done in the Art classes taken by Cecil Ross.

The press even turned up - isn't it good to catch them for a change instead of them catching you unawares!
The normal coffee morning continued as normal and was very well attended, coming along for their tea or coffee, scones and buns.
A few of the ladies took the opportunity to do the survey after they had finished their coffee.

Helen, with the help of James (peeking over her shoulder) completed the survey on line on the laptop set up ready for anyone to use.

We had printed out copies of the survey for those who prefer good old paper and pen to technology.

Some of the artists whose work was on display came along. Dorothy O'Kane and Kathleen Henry

An impressive display of work.

Committee Training Evenings

The evenings of Mondays 15th and 22nd of February 2010 were busy but very informative for the members of the Committee of the Association.

It had been arranged for Mrs Lesley Macauley (a motivational trainer) to come along to get them to think about the Association, where it has come from, where it is going to and what each one of them can do to ensure the success of the Community Association in the future.

She had them thinking 10 years down the line and showed how many of the asperations were possible as long as everyone gets involved.

John James thanked Lesley for her inspirational talks and presented her with a small present on behlaf of the Committee.

The opportunity was also taken to present Alfie Canning with an etched glass plaque with a picture of the Centre on it in appreciation of all the hard work he has done in the past and continues to do for the success of the Community Association.
