Dromboughil Pre-Christmas Table Sale

Saturday 13th November proved to be a very busy day in the Community Centre with our Pre-Christmas table sale.

It was a very pleasant day weatherwise and the sale was well supported by the local community.

Katrina Lynch came along with a selection of Jamie Oliver Cookware.

Mary Kathleen Groogan brought along a variety of articles from her shop that would make good Christmas presents.

There was a wide variety of crafts available on sale - no excuse for not finding something from Crafty Crafts.

Iona Gems proved to be very popular. A wonderful range of jewellery was on display.

You could have a seat and have a cup of tea which was included in the entrance fee of a mere £2.00.

The Top Tier Bakery was probably the most popular stand as it contained such a wealth of lovely sweet temptation.

Olive did a fine job selling raffle tickets for our Christmas raffle

The winning tickets will be drawn at the Christmas Coffee Morning which will be held on 17th December 2010. Get your tickets now from the office.

Dromboughil was chosen as one of the charities, along with Glenshane Community Care and Hands that talk, each receiving the sum of £1,570.

Our 'Action Man' was Liam Campbell who did the run in the name of Dromboughil.

Coffee Morning 24th September 2010

DON'T FORGET FOLKS.

COFFEE MORNING
FRIDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2010
10.00AM - 12.30PM

Come one, come all and bring your friends!

Upgrading the Hub and grounds

As the Hub is so much part of the life of the Centre and is coming into use so often it was decided to add a few items to make it a little more self-sufficient.

A small fridge was added for cool drinks, milk etc. It can get quite warm in the Hub on a sunny day!

The sink (not a recent addition) and water boiler allow the facility to make hot drinks and clear up afterwards.

Hot food on a cool day is always welcome so a microwave has been added.

With grass to cut and borders to tend some garden equipment was needed and so we invested in a good shed.

For those who feel the need to smoke we have put up a little smoking hut at the bottom of the car park where they can sit, have a smoke and look at the river.

As you can see the last burst of rain had quite an effect on the height of the river!

There were plenty of crafts on sale and display.

Beautiful cushions.

Some of the beautifully made craft items.

We also sell the materials to do the craft work.

It was very well supported. Thank you to you all.
Sales were good and the Coffee Shop was busy.

Young James is a regular attender at our Coffee Mornings.

Enjoying their coffee and chat.

Another brave man ventured!

(I have also a bit of video but it takes forever to upload. I'll get this done when I'm twiddling my thumbs in the Summer)

Walkers/Dancers end of term do 24th June 2010

Just the pictures at the moment folks.Video takes all day to upload. Will do it at my leisure during Summer.

The walking/dancing group had members in common so we decided to have a joint party. Some of the walkers walked to the Centre and then danced.

The concentration was powerful!

And as with all Dromboughil events, a good supper was served - which we danced off afterwards - honest!

Dorothy - our teacher.

After all the exercise we headed off into the sunset for a good nights rest.
