The roof is on so the building is now weather-proof with the skylight throwing light into the stairwell.
There is plenty of room on the end wall for our Dromboughil sign to go back up again and it is nice and near the road and easy to see.
The concrete stairs are poured and set so you can get upstairs without having to climb a ladder.

The insulation is in, the plasterboard is up and plastered over.  Once again the skylights throw light into the shop/workshop area.  One of the plasterers doing a final touch up.

As you can see there is quite a lot of space in the attic for Variety Crafts to use.

VARIETY CRAFTS HAS SKYLIGHTS!

VARIETY CRAFTS IS MAKING DEFINITE PROGRESS

The walls grew ....

It appears we are begining to lose our 'resources'!
And they grew again very quickly.

The roof is starting to appear.
The extra height of the extension is to facilitate the lift.
Creating the concrete sill at the edge of the roof.

VARIETY CRAFTS IS ON ITS WAY!
The work has begun in earnest.  The doorway for the lift being drilled out.
It was interesting working with first the drill and then the angle grinder in use, a combination of noise and the entire building vibrating!
The foundations for the lift and the emergency stair case were then poured.

WALK 6 - SPONSORED WALK TO BANAGHER DAM - 13TH JUNE 2013
There were 9 of us tonight and, although the weather was less than promising throughout the day, the sun came out for us and it was a most pleasant evening for a walk. Someone always insists in including me in the photos, not allowed to hide behind the camera!
Some of the beautiful scenery on the way up to the dam, and believe me there is an awful lot of up on the way to the Dam.

 Proof of where we were.
 A little mini waterfall.

Nature  finds all sorts of places to grow.

 A real waterfall.

 Nature never gives up.

The whole hill side was purple!
 A wonderful sight!  The Dam
Just enjoying the view
Just about to set off back down again.  (Isn't 'down' a wonderful word?
When we got back down to the car park the ladies selflessly offered to take the cars back to the centre as the men and Molly the dog were going to walk back.  Such generosity!
Speaking of generosity, this walk raised £190.00 towards the work of the Centre from sponsorship received.  BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO SPONSORED AND ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO CAME AND WALKED.  LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL BACK TO WALK NEXT SEASON.
